Hans J. Wegner - Papa Bear Lounge Chair - Model AP90

Details

Hans J.Wegner easy chair by AP Stolen

Bamsestol (Bear chair) - known as Papa Bear chair. Measures: Height 90 cm x width 101 cm x depth 95 cm. Seat: 42 cm arm: 65 cm

Designed by Hans J.Wegner in 1951 and produced by AP Stolen as AP90.

Later on produced by PP Møbler as PP19. A design icon with outstanding comfort - possibly one of the most comfortable chairs ever made. It is said, that the chair received its name after a critic had referred to its armrests as ’great bear paws embracing you from behind’. We think that it is rather the look of the tips of the armrests that resembles the nose of a bear - see detail photo.

The shown Papa Bear Chair is a very early edition by AP-Stolen with teak & oak details. Covered with the original fabric..
