Ettore Sottsass - Ultrafragola

1970 for Poltronova, Milano

First edition model of the Ultrafragola Mirror designed by Ettore Sottsass for Poltronova.

Light up mirror with acrylic shell made of layered waves around the central mirror - glows in fascinating orange!

Neontubes and transformator are fully working.

Designed by Ettore Sottsass Jr. as part of a series, ’I Mobili Grigi’, first exhibited in 1970 at the Eurodomus, Milan.

The postmodernist master is well known for his sexy creations, like for instance the Shiva vase, today produced by BD Barcelona, and of course Ultrafragola. The mirror also has a ritual aspect as if it sprung from an ancient oriental civilization.

Ultrafragola is one of the most sought after pieces by Ettore Sottsass. 20th century design collectors love it as it is a strong decorative element in any room thanks to sculptural dimensions. A true must-have for postmodernist design enthusiasts!
